If Congress creates and funds a department, I think the President is obligated to manage and spend the money on the department. I don’t think a President can eliminate departments by edict.
What Trump is pointing out about education could be said of our healthcare system as well. And certainly we now well know it applies to government. What he pointed out about the Kennedy Center applies to our culture more broadly. Our churches? They were all busy soaking in the cash to import an invading army into our country.
Our country’s institutions are corrupted to the gills, and short of success with the massive reversal Trump is initiating, we are done for—whether the Chinese are in line to overtake us (and that is surely their plan) or not.
Whether immediately or after waiting for the SCOTUS to strike down the lower courts within about the next 6 months, I have confidence the Trump administration really is going to shut down the Department of Education. Conservatives have been wanting this for 45 years. Like many other things, Trump will be the one who actually delivered it.

However, I think Trump should consider letting it continue to operate long enough for MAGA to use that centralized power for good by forcing local school districts to dump all of their woke, DEI-focused, and anti-American curricula and replacing it with strong traditional academics and patriotism. Use the same mechanism the left used to destroy education to rebuild it instead: arm-twisting via DOE grants.
Then once that is accomplished, eliminate the DOE.
DOE has been the reason for the decline in America’s education. Their main job is useless teachers unions.

America needs to start the climb back to the top of the Top 40 educations and make it cheaper to teach the young skulls full of mush. We can start by knocking out “Which Gender Are You” out of the curriculum. We can live without one of Jimmah Cahtah’s major **** ups. Creating a taxpayer dollar munching Department we don’t need. The Redundant Department of Redundancy.
Delete the Dept. of Education. What the children don’t know won’t hurt them.
For every teacher in a classroom we have probably 5 administrators, 5 “counselors “ and 5-10 filling out required DOE paperwork. The actual teaching cost per pupil is 1/8 vs the 7/8 of wasted positions. It’s the same or worse with healthcare / hospitals. Tons of waste to meet guidance from the . Kill the wasted BS requirements and cost will immediately go down. Kill the departments of education EPA HHS DHS…
Kill every agency that has a SWAT team. It appears that they all want their own little army. If any agency issues those “evil guns”’ gut them. We do have a military, state & local police force. We can collect all weapons from Broward County FL where their police run away from school shooters. IDK what to do with Uvalde TX. The cowards of TX.
Back to my original point is there are probably 100 different agencies/groups with their own SWAT teams. They need to all be fired and the guns/ammo given to upstanding citizens.
The Department of Indoctrination never should have been created in the first place. It took decades to realize just how bad Carter really was.
Ironically, the ratings are done by liberals to show why we need to spend more.

The DOE violates the law every day. The law says the DOE shall not control the content of an educational institution and everyone in education knows they do.

I’m a teacher in a small rural school in Missouri. We don’t need nor do we want the Federal Government involved in our eductional programs.
