Canadians buy far MORE American stuff than we buy from them. They also are NOT paying even the least amount for their own military protection and rely entirely on us for that.
That female and others like her, really need to wake up and refrain from making such pronunciamientos/threats.
Actually you do.
You just may not know it.
Do you buy paper towels and toilet paper?
It may be coming from Canada.
ANYTHING you buy in the grocery store, Walmart or Amazon gets delivered to you by a truck, ship and railcar that burns diesel fuel.
By raising the price on one of the main import suppliers of that fuel it will increase the price of all items incrementally on those shipping vehicles. This is inflationary.
It cuts into GDP.
The price of lumber, steel, aluminum, diesel has an effect on the cost of new home construction and many other things.
Increasing the cost of home construction makes that product more expensive for all the people looking to purchase a home.
Home construction is a major economic indicator.
Which is why the government track it on a monthly basis. Slow construction affects literally hundreds of industries.
An increase in the price of automobiles made in Canada will have a ripple effect across the entire industry. It will raise the cost of all automobiles sold in the USA.
Even if they are made in the USA.
Many of the parts are made in Canada and Mexico.
If Ford or GM raises their price, don’t you think Toyota will raise theirs even if that vehicle is made in San Antonio?
