The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) only runs a program to house migrants that is funded by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), contrary to posts online saying that FEMA disaster relief funds were diverted by the Biden Administration to house migrants in the U.S. illegally. FEMA and its Disaster Relief Fund have been targets of disinformation in the wake of Hurricane Helene, which devastated parts of the U.S. Southeast in late September.

Parsing words indeed. That doesn’t mean they didn’t send money to house illegals, it only means it didn’t come out of the “Disaster Relief Fund”, just one fund of many. Seems very carefully worded, no? Since almost every fund within FEMA’s budget is classified “Discretionary Appropriation”, they seem to be able to spend it however they want.

BS. WHO paid for these hotel bills? 100% of it came from FEMA payments. PERIOD. the receipts don’t lie. They can two-step around and claim that it was other departments that paid - but that simply isn’t how it works in the government. Every penny comes from the agency that paid it. Intermingling funds is not allowed.

Speaking of illegal actions....I can’t say as to the possible truth or untruth of this....but it was stated on a national show this morning that S.S. money was being used to sustain illegal migrants in NYC. Who would have the ability to do this & how would it be accomplished? If it IS being done.
Correct. Since there hasn’t been an actual budget in more than a decade, money is doled out by the “continuing resolutions”. Those are just general appropriations to agencies of the last years amount plus 20% mark-up every year. The particular recipients of the funds are not laid out in the resolutions and neither is the purpose that the money is to be spent for. For example..”Continuing Resolution” gives FEMA $1 billion dollars. FEMA then decides, no doubt with Demoncrat urging, which programs to fund and the purposes of the funding. So FEMA decides to fund luxury hotels for illegal immigrants to the tune of $58 mil. Congress still never appropriated funds for that program or for that purpose. Continuing Resolutions must be BANNED in Congress. They are used to hide partisan political garbage like the crap DOGE is discovering..
So, in other words - FEMA disaster funds were diverted to migrants by the Biden administration.

Technicality. Were illegals housed in hotels or not? We’re those hotels secure or free range? We know the answer.
The fact is the government spent money on housing illegals in overpriced hotels. Though there shouldn’t be illegals to house in the first place if the borders were secured, which needs to be done, these are already here. We know they have to be housed somewhere until deported, but it should be a secure location until deportation, not some hotel where they can wander off and disappear, steal some as number, and game the system. It doesn’t matter to which agency the funds were initially allocated, the money was still allocated without the new administration’s approval during an audit, and then it was spent, that is, signed off on, without approval by FEMA employees who had been directed not to.
For one, FEMA shouldn’t be spending money allocated to another department. If they do something on behalf of another agency, let the agency on whose behalf they do it cut the check.
There is no need for funds to be laundered through various agencies, unless the objective is to make accounting for it more difficult than it needs to be.
