It has been said that the feds pulled a wire tap down because the recently elected Obozo was somehow implicated, along with Pritzker. Blago was on the outs with the democratic party, and this was their chance to get back at him.

His father in law, Chicago Alderman Dick Mell, helped mentor Blago and felt betrayed because Blago kept him at arms length after being elected governor. Blago forgot that you have to “dance with the one who brung you” he tried to buck the party and acted more like an independent.
