Hands down the best National Anthem ever to be sung at the Super Bowl. Yes, this even beats out Whitney Houston's version.

Agree. And if not the Ray Charles version, the drop singers all together and just have a band play it so the crowd can sing along.
I’ve always thought that going to singers was a secret effort to get people to stop singing along, and eventually forget the words all together. There’s a unifying spirit that comes from singing with a crowd - anyone who’s been in the service and sang marching songs/cadances understands.
I’ pretty sure I heard America The Beautiful right before the national anthem. Very well done.

When they start out with a tempo that slow, you can see the participants on the field and in the game audience grimacing. At that level it is a hostage situation

It was good, but Whitney, may she rest in piece, set the standard that has never been matched for her rendition of The Star Spangled Banner.
