Speculation only, but maybe he recognizes that if the US disappears, all his life’s work will be for naught. First and foremost, he is a capitalist.

“First and foremost, he is a capitalist.”

First and foremost, he is a visionary and a leader.

Musk could never have been described as a socialist, but he has said he voted for Obama and then Clinton.

During Trump’s first administration, he started to publicly make comments like “The United States as “[inarguably] the greatest country that has ever existed on Earth,” and “the greatest force for good of any country that’s ever been.”

Or “democracy would not exist any longer if not for the United States, saying that it prevented this disappearance on three occasions through its participation in World War I, World War II, and the Cold War”

He has also become more libertarian over this time, saying thing like “In general, I believe government should rarely impose its will upon the people, and, when doing so, should aspire to maximize their cumulative happiness,”

You could describe his views as “awakening.”

He is like most people - once one loses the vague, dreamy attachment to (fake) leftist slogans - one starts to see the vast leftist/statist lust for power and corruption underneath. Then anger and righteousness sets in.

That’s where he is now.

"Speculation only, but maybe he recognizes that if the US disappears, all his life’s work will be for naught. First and foremost, he is a capitalist."

Movie Good Will Hunting 1997 film, scene Matt Damon responding to question by girl friend How do you do it? Matt Damon responds: it just comes to me.

I with out a doubt know that Elon Musk has that "IT."

If I may, I'm 72 yr's old, in my 8th grade math class, one day as usual being a punk, and talking in / during and disturbing class with my friend who I had known at this point for over a year.

Teacher call's on my friend to answer a math question. (purpose of the question was to make a FOOL out of my friend,) and embarrass him into paying attention in class.

OUT OF LEFT FIELD, I learn I've been hanging out with Albert Einstein. The guy never, never, never, said a word about math in any way shape / form etc.

My fiend goes up to the black board to keep it simple he does a GOOD WILL HUNTING on the teacher and the whole class, The teacher with his mouth WIDE opened after being shown how to do the problem seven different ways, tried to show he was still some what in authority, ASKED him to please sit down, does an about face looks at the black board for what seemed an extra 5 minutes in disbelief he just got BITCH SLAPPED for the first time in his Life.

With this exceptional MATH knowledge, all he wanted out of life was to ride his Harley Davidson Motorcycle. And that's what he did. P.S. That's what killed him.

What I'm trying to convey about Elon Musk is for him what he's doing with his knowledge, I would say he's just taking another couple days to cut your front lawn, no big deal, no thinking involved, just a minor process, anybody can do it (in his world only, not mine, I'm an idiot compared to him and my friend.)
