Do NOT try this at home. Even an M88 recovery vehicle will be damaged in this test.

There’s a YouTube of cars plowing into concrete walks and just like this, the Ford Explorer manages best.
Sure wish I knew how to fix my console lights/functions.

That was great! I enjoyed the little flip of the Tesla!
I imagined the guy with the Ford Explorer said “Hey! Look what you did to my door!”

I have worked with those steel coils and they are no joke. That coil is almost a solid piece of steel by weight. They will tip a forklift over if you are not careful.

That would make a good ad for the Ford Explorer. The only vehicle in which the driver would have survived.
Wish they had included an actual Ford F-150 though. Just because the Miata identifies as an F-150 doesn't make it one. :-)

The video would be more interesting if it wasn’t CGI.

They labeled the Miata an F-150!
The Explorer did well. Backseat passengers would have survived.
Tesla flattened, then flipped like a pancake.

20 tons? Meh. When I worked at a big open pit copper mine, one of the training videos showed a haul truck backing over a pickup truck. The pickup was completely flattened.

I’m not really believing the Explorer vs. the Tahoe. Our 2014 Tahoe is built MUCH more heavily throughout than the 2009 Explorer was. CGI, eh?

This happened in my hometown. A guy was at a stop light with two lanes. He was in the right hand lane. A flat bed truck loaded with these came up to him in the next lane over but came up to the light too fast and he had to brake too fast. One of them broke loose and flipped on to this car. Just like in the video his car was flattened and he died instantly. Scary thing. You see this being shipped by truck all the time and I keep my distance.

No, cost cars and even heavy-duty trucks will not. 20 tons here twenty tons there and soon enough it gets heavy.
