Hmmm…if I may ask, is „Kraut“ that terrible of a slur? I mean, I have been called that on FR quite a number of times. But there were plenty of other Freepers who told me to beware of these particular people.🙂

I have been called much worse, though, to be fair, never to my face. But the worst by far on the Internet, as concerns name-calling, are leftists of any nation.
Though what I have read from German nationalist extremists was avowedly not much better, and it caused me to recoil from their forum (where I had been lurking for a while) when one of them said something about the Americans which I would never dare to repeat here - and the sheer memory of it makes me blush with shame 😳
I use the word kraut in many conversations referring to myself and others of the Germanic ilk.
Cannot ask for an edible stadium dog or Reuben sandwich without ordering it with ‘kraut’.
To the whimpering simpering crowd, my only response to hearing something they don’t like is (shutup and growup)
