Of course not. Yogi Yorgisson was of Norwegian dissent, and as the past several generations of my pureblood Norwegian relatives believed, the greatest racial difference is between the Norwegians and the Swedes. Calling someone a Swede was pretty well the worst name-calling one could do.
My grandmother married someone who was half Norwegian and half Finn, and his mother was repeatedly put down by my grandmother’s family as a Swede.
FWIW—everyone emigrated between about 1890 and 1910, so the values they brought with them may have been a little different than what are found now.
