Is referencing Gittin 57a anti-Semitic?
The Seinfeld series had a character, Uncle Leo, who saw anti-Semitism in everyone and everything. He was a funny character but wasn't taken seriously by Jerry and other Jews in the sitcom. Uncle Leo repeatedly jumped the shark.
Jews and Christians need to face-up to respective complicity in how we mislabel and mistreat one another. Jews are not without sin; Christians are not without sin.

Christians have been persecuting Jews since right after the giving of the Torah at Mt. Sinai? How can that be when there were no Christians around some 3,300+ years ago?
Jews have always associated Rome (aka The Church) with Esav (aka Esau of the twins Jacob and Esau). Who attacked the Jews right after the giving of the Torah? The Amalekites. Who are the Amalekites? One of the grandchildren of Esau.
Fast forward to the Book of Esther and the holiday of Purim. Who is the antagonist of the story? Haman. Who was he? He was an Agagite who descended from King Agag. Who is Agag? An Amalekite who is descended from Esau. Who was hung on the gallows in the story of Esther? Haman and his 10 sons.
What happened on Oct. 16, 1946? 10 Nazis were hung for their convictions of war crimes against Jews of the Holocaust and others.
The New York Herald Tribune of Oct. 16, 1946, reported: “With burning hatred in his eyes, Julius Streicher (one of the Nuremberg 10) looked down at the witnesses and shouted (as he was about to be hung): ‘Purim Fest 1946!’
What did Streicher know about Purim? The date of the execution, Oct. 16, fell on Hoshana Rabba, the end of Sukkot — the day when G-d’s verdicts are sealed.
What religion were the Germans? Catholics and Lutherans - Rome/Esau.
Who is Suffering Servant in Isaiah 53? The Jews. They have suffered at the hands of their twin brother - the Christians and other peoples for a long time. Now I understand why some Jews have chip on their shoulder in regards to Christians. If you want to see the evidence of who the ‘servant’ is in Isaiah to whom God refers, just look at my profile. I list verse after verse after verse that it isn’t Jesus, but actually the Jews.
Has the war by the Christians/Esauists ended yet? Nope! The physical persecution might have ended, but the spiritual persecution has not. How? By Christians who are converting Jews to Christianity. I consider converting Jews to Christianity as another form of anti-Semitism. Christians need to stop this now and forever.
Remember that Esau wanted to kill Jacob and that lust continues even to today. I’m shocked that I discovered an intra-family rivalry that goes back into the Bronze Age some 3,800 years ago and continues to this very day!
I’m neither Christian nor Jew, but have taken the time to do a lot of research about Christianity and Judaism (and some Islam) since 1997 and this what I have learned about this specific topic.
