After, the recent fantastic Trump win in America, it would seem this would be the most inopportune moment to cast a shadow on the future.
But reality takes no holidays and while prophecy may seem like some sort of outlier, it is, in fact, a thousand times more important than any major event in history. It is the very culmination of history as we know it.
World events have forced together four major occurrences that now have converged to create the basis of the most prophetically charged moment in world history.

I don’t know why people do this. No one knows.
Every other year or so, this always comes up. They thought it was happening in Paul’s time.
Predictions of the end of times are about as dramatic is the climate change alarms.
“And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.” (Rev 13: 16-17)
Prophetic warnings from the usual suspects -- it's like how Senator Iselin railed against all the communists in government.

I always thought the Mark was those product bar codes. Now I think it’s those QR codes on everything.
I think it may have to do with our phones.
There was an article out of China where phone service was down in an area and nobody could buy anything. And where are our phones? Right hand (for most) and forehead.

There are quite a few things that happen in 2 Thessalonians 2. These include the second coming/day of the Lord, falling away (aka apostasy), revealing of the “man of lawlessness” (aka the Antichrist) at the abomination of desolation, false miracles, strong delusion, and the “restrainer” being taken out of the way. We might imply the mark of the beast and false resurrection will be part of the specific details (based on other passages).
Does the author mean to say that ALL of these will happen between now and the end of 2028?
I agree with your point.
I’ve read early church writers who addressed the identity of the Antichrist. Like many writers and Bible expositors today, the early writers noted that it is probably foolish to speculate who the Antichrist might be, but then they proceed to do so.
Identifying the Antichrist and setting dates are foolish games we shouldn’t play. And that’s why I’m not saying it’s going to be Obama in 2032. (Yes, I’m just kidding.)
Christ identified who the fake Jesus literally is.. Who tempted Christ and what did the devil require of Christ…. . .?
There is going to be a ‘replay’ of that play’ is described in Revelation 12. Christ declared ALL but the very elect will be deceived!

Are you suggesting Judas? He and the Antichrist are both called “Son of Perdition”:

2 Thessalonians 2:3-5 NKJV
Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.
But Judas already went to Hell, and the Antichrist isn’t cast there until the end:
Acts 1:25 NKJV
To take part in this ministry and apostleship from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place.
Revelation 19:20 NKJV
Then the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who worked signs in his presence, by which he deceived those who received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image. These two were cast alive into the lake of fire burning with brimstone.
The identity of the Antichrist has not been publicly revealed yet. That’s the point of Paul describing a (then) future event that must precede the second coming:
2 Thessalonians 2:3-4 NKJV
Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.
The Antichrist will have a name and number. We know the number (but it is something that apparently requires special wisdom to count), and the name was not recorded in scripture but is connected to this number (666):
Revelation 13:17-18 NKJV
That no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man: His number is 666.
It may be possible for believers to recognize the Antichrist before the event Paul describes as being “revealed” (apokalyphthē). He will renew a 7-year peace treaty. He will rise to global power through intrigue and flattery. He will practice dark arts. He will force the “mark” on all people (and this could begin before the “revealing”). He will wage war on the followers of Christ.
But the Antichrist will be publicly unveiled at the abomination of desolation, an event Daniel writes about in detail. Events like this final one have happened in the past but this prophecy has not been fulfilled ultimately. In other words, it remains a future prophetic event.
I do not see any evidence that we have enough publicly available knowledge to identify the Antichrist yet.
Who tempted Christ? Who has already been judged and sentenced to death? Isaiah 14 and Ezekiel 28:12- No flesh, born of woman has the role of playing a fake Jesus,. Hollywood on steroids.. And all but the elect will be deceived…. Imagine that, Christians in ignorance bending a knee to Baal?

That doesn’t work.
First, there are many anti-Christs/false Christs who come in Jesus’ name:
Matthew 24:5 NKJV
For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many.
Next, a human lineage is specified:
Daniel 9:26 NKJV
And after the sixty-two weeks Messiah shall be cut off, but not for Himself; And the people of the prince who is to come Shall destroy the city and the sanctuary. The end of it shall be with a flood, And till the end of the war desolations are determined.
And further, he is not merely a spirit but is literally called a “man”. He is “the man of sin”:

The beast (the Antichrist) is not the Devil, as the beast is thrown into the lake of fire separately from the beast:
Revelation 20:10 NKJV
The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.
The Devil is evicted by Michael, the archangel, in the middle of Daniel’s 70th week. This occurs at the same time as the abomination of desolation, which reveals the Antichrist. This appears to be when “his deadly wound [is] healed” and he is Satanically empowered. But he is still a man. See Revelation 12.
A third of the children whored-follow Lucifer…. That is the reason for this flesh age. And those described in the book of Jude are who Christ was describing in John 3.. one must be born from ‘above’, of woman to see the kingdom of god.. Satan and his minions will not be born of woman. (Hebrews 2:14)
