Indeed, the Department of Education, was created by extracting education from what was then known as the Department of Health, Education, and Welfare.
After education was pulled out of the Department of Health, Education, and Welfare, the Department was renamed the Department of Health and Human Services. So folding it back in would make some sense.

I wonder if instead of “eliminating” dpt of Ed.. could he just “merge” it into HHS? There was never a justification for it legally. "Education" is not a Federill power under Article I Section 8.

If moving it requires legislation, I’d leave it, and just strip it down to a shell that’s unrecoverable for a rat admin if they won anytime soon.
