U.S. President Donald Trump said on Monday he wants Ukraine to supply the United States with rare earth minerals as a form of payment for financially supporting the country's war efforts against Russia.

Trump, speaking to reporters at the White House, said Ukraine was willing, adding that he wants "equalization" from Ukraine for Washington's "close to $300 billion" in support.

"We're telling Ukraine they have very valuable rare earths," Trump said. "We're looking to do a deal with Ukraine where they're going to secure what we're giving them with their rare earths and other things."

The USA has plenty of rare earths.

At this moment, only one mine, in California, is in operation.

Processing has all been sent overseas, mainly to China - because California and NIMBY environmentalists don’t like having metallurgy and chemical plants anywhere near them (and also, they hate humanity and human progress)

Let’s fix that first.

What kind of rare earth items are available in what will be left of Ukraine is the question.

But, yes, Ukraine must pay us back for the money Biden wasted on this failed proxy war.

General Kellogg is traveling to Ukraine next week. Putin’s botched invasion is on its last legs.

Get Ukraine's first so we can preserve some of ours longer, while we mine baby mine the rare earths here that Ukraine doesn't have.

While we also drill baby drill for oil and natural gas. While we build hydro power wherever possible (I think it's about maxed out in red states like Alabama and Tennessee, which are 2nd and 3rd in hydro power of all states east of the Rockies). While we mine cobalt from Minnesota.

We should do everything we can to be energy independent and be an energy exporter so they rest of the world has no control over us, but has to pay attention to us. I'd say we should build nuclear but that'd mean buying uranium from Russia thanks to Hillary Too-stupid-to-jail Clinton and her Uranium One.

“Keeps them away from China.”

That’s very important.

Higher interests are what happens when an economy overheats because of excessive growth.

You're almost right.

Biden's failed proxy war is on its last legs.

That means Ukraine isn't getting any territory back.

Keep whistling past the graveyard. Interest rates in Russia are rising because the war is sucking up all the workers and resources, resulting in shortages and higher inflation. In the meantime the civilian economy is collapsing. The Russian economy is not in good shape.

Sure. You and your fellow Zeepers been predicting the Russian economy would fall apart for almost three years.

Your track record is almost perfect -- you've been consistently wrong.
