450 hours in six years does not sound like “highly experienced” to me, especially when she spent some of that time working as a White House aide in the Biden administration. I wonder how many hours she had piloting a helicopter in the last year.

My hunch is that her “aide” job ended less than 2 weeks ago. And she probably had the connections to remain in the DC area, vs. going to another base in the hinterlands. So she was just getting back into the swing of flying during this training mission. If so, maybe (in hindsight) not such good judgement letting her train in this high risk corridor.

I will add that I am relieved the pilot wasn’t some kind of suicidal trannie. While that would definitely validate what Trump has been saying, it would also have reflected very, very poorly on the Army.
