True, they don’t. And this is a critical issue. We need a mostly homogeneous society in terms of core values and principles. No sensible person is against diversity and inclusion (the equity part is a bit confusing and seems Marxist). But we really won’t be able to achieve DEI without including merit. GHWB talked about the ‘soft bigotry of low expectations’ and my impression is that DEI is a sort of method to compensate for failures in education and self discipline. We can yammer for years about “systemic racism” but the true problem is the educational system. It is weak. It creates weak minded people. If we strive for excellence then everyone of diversity who achieves excellence will be included.
