mergency crews are responding to an explosion in Northeast Philadelphia after a small plane crashed in the area of Roosevelt Boulevard and Cottman Avenue, Philadephia police confirmed to CBS News Philadelphia.
Two people were aboard the plane, according to police. There are other injuries reported on the ground, police added.
Multiple homes are on fire in the area of Cottman Avenue and Roosevelt Boulevard following the crash, fire officials said.
It's unclear at this time what led to the crash. The victims' status was also not immediately available.
Drones all over in thee sky in the damn crash area now….
No, we don’t. I just figured it went to Philly to pickup med passengers to fly to MO. I really don’t think it was carrying passengers to Philly and then on to Springfield.
It was so fast, but I think there was possibly a small streak, barely visible going towards the plane, then the explosion in the sky, then the streak going to the ground.

Why would anyone name one of their US cities “ mexico?”
Speaking of airplane oddity...different Ukraine reg. aircraft over my house on (usually) Friday’s. Rare to hear multi-engine prop jobs in my neck of the woods.

I know it is hard to judge speed from these poor quality videos, but really reminds one of a missile coming in full speed at a target (not saying it is a missile). Like well above 250 kts when it impacts. Could it really get up that much speed from 1600 feet? I’ll wait to hear more from the experts.

Mexico Maine dates back 1818. I think our view of them was a little different back then.
And it is a very small town, not a city.
There’s also a town in NY named Moscow. I was in the USMC with a guy from there. Sergeants used to have a field day with that one. LOL
Great video. It captures the explosion that brought the jet down. The explosion is seen at the start of the clip. It is at the 11 O’clock position of the street lamp on the R in the video. As the explosion is stationary it is not a missile but imo an explosion on or inside the aircraft.
No….it’s lbs
why do you jump to conclusions without evidence?...
Because..... what are the odds
250kts was the last reported speed. My guess is that if something happened there is the possibility that the engines were still full speed heading down. It did look like a meteor.
Looks like it was on fire and dropping quickly before it hit.
