True, but given the rest of the “response” I think the witness was probably just a Muslim exclaiming “God is Great” for him (the witness) not catching a nice chunk of shrapnel...

I was watching the news with coworkers when the Twin Towers were hit by a second plane. Up until that point we questioned whether the first plane was an accident.

My immediate comment was two cannot be a coincidence or accident. It’s terrorism and an act of war. I said we are now at war with someone, and it’s now just a question of who.

I feel similarly about recent accidents and natural disasters. It’s too much for all of it to be a coincidence. And I’m afraid that the answer to the “who” question may be worse than Russia, China, or Islamic terrorists. I fear that it may be the enemy within. I fear that we may have Deep Staters who are willing to commit mass murder just to undermine President Trump.

I hope I’m wrong.

On another site, a poster estimated that the jet was traveling around 500 mph on it’s final trajectory into the ground.

In my mind, that is a far higher speed than a terminal velocity descent.

It might even mean that both engines were generating power/full power?

This makes my brain hurt, so I’ll just leave the thought here for now, and let others comment, if so inclined.

I think that was a prayer from a guy standing on the street who saw a jet lawn dart in and explode.
Kinda like we would say, “oh my god!”.

FoxLive was on the scene before anyone else. I keep that up and running on my PC. Some O2 tanks exploded and one was sent through a restaurant or business. The reporter said he smelled jet fuel - everywhere. The debris field was estimated to be around 400 yards at the time he did the report. He also reported early it was a plane that provides medical related transport.

They mentioned ice but i don’t know for sure what the temps were there.

My first thought was after takeoff, it hit a drone, or a drone was sucked into one of the engines. Even some kid’s drone. It was Friday night, kids will be out and about. I don’t know that for sure but that’s what I was thinking at first. The doorbell cam makes it look like some missile but I think that is the frame rate.

I was having fun. There's too many crazy posts going on in here. It makes me shm and then laugh at the lunacy.

I’ve worked in aviation all my life (now semi-retired) and had my pilot’s license at 16 before I even had a driver’s license. I have a degree in aviation management, and studied aircraft accident investigation in college from Greg Feith, who is one of the most accomplished accident investigators in the country and is frequently consulted by various TV networks when a crash occurs. I’ve also worked closely with the FAA ATO (Air Traffic Organization) on developing and implementing “NextGen” RNAV and RNP navigation procedures, and am highly knowledgeable about ATC procedures in general.

Yet apparently I don’t know as much about the likely cause of an aircraft accident as some tin foil hat Freepers here. I’m as disappointed as I’ve ever been in certain folks here, even though we’re all on the same side and all share the right principles in life. To those folks: Just because we have witnessed some actual conspiracies in our government, such as the failed soft coup against Trump, doesn’t mean that EVERYTHING is a conspiracy!

In the past couple of days I’ve witnessed some truly foolish behavior from some here, especially the obstinate insistence of a few to cling tightly to ridiculous conspiracy theories about these two crashes despite their complete lack of knowledge about aviation. Because of the overreach of the dems and the consequences of their horrendous policies, the voting public has granted us a narrow window of opportunity to turn this country around and by so doing, cement righteous governing principles into place for a generation. But we will harm that cause in the eyes of our new-found but tentative political allies if we act like the uneducated hillbillies that the left tries to portray us as.

We should be the side of the political divide that is objective, fact-based, and sober-minded. And generally we are, but we also harbor a tendency by some among us to be contrarians who love to ridicule anything they don’t understand, or worse to cook up absurd conspiracy theories every time they can’t immediately see a rational explanation. And that makes us look dumb and foolish.

Sometimes (the vast majority of the time) things are exactly as they appear. Stop trying so hard to turn every unusual event into a spooky conspiracy, especially when you have little knowledge of the subject matter. Because when the real suspicious events DO occur, we don’t want to be dismissed as the boy who cried “Wolf.”

Almost like there was a bomb on board.

An ambulance would have a tank of oxygen on board.

Highly likely they had the patient on oxygen and a static spark ignited the oxygen.

That poor child. Just got through whatever treatments she had to get, on the way home and this. Very, very sad. Sorry for all the lost souls and their families. Fox said that this carrier had another accident in 2023, pilot overshot the runway and killed a bunch of people. Sounds like a company that does not hire the best pilots (like Biden’s gov) and maybe shotty maintenance doings also.

One person questioned on Fox said pilots sometimes are sensitive to the price of fuel and could have chosen to fill enough to get to another place followed by a stop for a town that sold cheaper fuel later.

That is very true.

Quite often, you put on more fuel than you need for the next leg, because where you are now—the fuel is cheaper (and it is cheaper to burn a little more fuel on this leg and buy less fuel on the next leg, where fuel is more expensive).

“Tankering “ fuel, which it is called, occurs both in the corporate world and the airline world. My experience was that we tankered more often in the airline world—because the money savings could be much more becuase of the much larger fuel buys.
