*** The Media are going to go full bore doing this kind of thing for the next four years.***

The media will regret doing that. They’re already regretting the things they’ve said about Trump.

It’s not going to work, except for the far left TDS folks.

Rumor has it, Tonya Harding hired Jeff Gillooly to steal the helicopter.

“Incompetent chopper pilots more likely.”

Yep. Who the HELL would run a “training mission” down the Potomac River right in the flight path of landing aircraft?

My first thought about the pilot is way, way out there — is it possible the helo pilot did a suicide mission to damage the Trump agenda?

It’s such a fundamental mistake that it is nearly inconceivable to believe it was just a mistake.

Airport traffic areas are designed deliberately to accommodate arriving and departing aircraft safely. That five mile radius is not designed to support training operations. Those are carried out closer to the 30 mile class B airspace boundary.

Helicopter operation has always upset air traffic controllers. The nature of their flight characteristics puts them into busy expressway lanes like a golf cart going 25mph on the interstate. They are very disruptive to fixed wing carrier operations.

I talked to my air traffic controller son, and he said Army chopper pilots scare him because they like to “do their own thing.”

Pretty sure Trump already reviewed the resume of the Traffic Controller(s) and is on solid ground re: DEI

Not the new ones. And I’m sure they have the latest and greatest.

I saw somewhere that this was a military training flight - why was the military routing training flights into passenger jet flight paths?

A General with air space expertise yesterday said that this is daily training in the event of a “Continuity Of Government” issue. And military helicopters are pretty much always share that air space with larger commercial flights. Smaller passenger planes don’t go there (he didn’t say why).

There is absolutely no reason for a helo to be anywhere near the takeoff or approach path of an airliner.

DEI pilots. DEI controllers. DEI military.

What could go wrong?

This reminds of the aerial collision over Texas a year or so ago when a P-39 flew into a B-17 at an airshow. It looked like it was impossible for the P-39 pilot to _not_ see the B-17. But the P-39 pilot was executing a banking turn and could only see what was in front of it. He couldn’t see the B-17 through the belly of its own fuselage.

In last night’s event, I can envision a descending jet (whose pilots are wholly focused on the runway before them and going through landing procedures) not seeing a military helicopter approaching from its (right?) side it is converging with. The helicopter, whose pilot is also focused on obstacles on the ground and watching instrumentation, could easily miss the descending jet above it.

If it was a training flight, I wonder if night vision gear was involved. In my limited use with them (in the 80’s) depth perception is adversely affected by them (in my experience).

In short, I can see how they could miss seeing one another. No way am I saying that’s what happened.

People speculated such last night. Not the pilots of the plane or the helicopter, more likely the tower making wrong calls. Is that plausible?

Bongino said that airport was so rigidly regulated because of its role and location that smaller passenger planes just avoid it to avoid the rigmarole of getting ok'd there.

I don’t think anyone should be playing the blame game at this point in time.

Exactly! I see their inability to look in the mirror as a distinct plus for America!

They are already becoming increasingly irrelevant, day by day, as everyone except (as you characterize them) the far Left TDS people, slowly begin to realize they are (and have been) being lied to and deceived on a continuous basis.

Everything from he economy, to race, to climate change...even the lazy, the dimwitted, and the preoccupied people are beginning to see it.

The Democrats and the Left are doing the equivalent of themselves unwittingly doling out Red Pills to the very people who have been their bread and butter of manipulation for so long.

I like it.

Exacty what occurred last night. If not for the horror of the mess, it was Keystone Kops Take Flying Lessons.

All I’ve ever seen was from TV/movies where everything’s a shade of green or occasionally orange irrc. I still say it’s a stupid training mission to fly around a busy airport and cross the incoming flight path of landing planes. Let them use 10 .mil planes and a helicopter to simulate a busy airport training.
