“I don’t support creating new mandates on businesses, and I certainly don’t support a big brother database of law-abiding Floridians who want to send money abroad,” Albritton said.

Reminds me of what Cmdr. Eddington said to Cpt. Torrey, when Torrey said he had been relieved of sea duty.

“Bastards.”

It is all nonsense because the Federal government has constitutional precedence over immigration enforcement.

Politicians trying to ride the Trump train.

Florida is known as a deep red state but it is less well known that the Florida Republican Party still has many Charlie Crist-style Rinos in the legislature.

Many urban Republicans are just itching to return to Crist/Bush policies.

Plus, legislative leaders are rankled that DeSantis stole the show, hampered getting campaign money from Disney, and insisted on leading like a leader.

Many chamber of commerce Republicans have not been supportive of discouraging illegal immigration; and they still are not supportive.

Reminds one of the 2013 Gang of 8 “Immigration Reform” bill in Congress.

The RINOs need to be put on notice that they won’t get away with this. I hope the people of Florida get on these creeps right away.

This is a hugely important (and difficult bill) to defeat.

So they want to place the power of immigration in the hands of a guy controlled by businesses wanting cheap labor? THIS NEEDS TO BE DESTROYED on the launchpad.

Power struggles between legislative and executive branches of government?

Unheard of. This never happens.

All the legal authority would go to Agriculture Commissioner Wilton Simpson and his office,
armed with more than $500 million to help enforce federal immigration laws in the state.

All Floridians should call or email their Legislature.

“…once-powerful”? Maybe he’ll lose this one but, until he does, isn’t it a bit early to apply that moniker?

Typical MSM disruption. Conservatives get jerked over and over and never learn.

Fix California first before trying to meddle in Florida affairs.

Agriculture. Hmm.

They want to pick and choose which illegals to get rid of, and which ones to stay and work the fields. How charmimg.

Hope this fails big time. Its clear Trump is first mainly focusing on the criminal elements and those who say “catch me I dare you”...

Under all the fake wrapping this is really about transferring any state powers in the matter over to someone more way more friendly to the deep state.

Over the last 35 years, I've done a lot more of that than you apparently reailize.
