Paxton was one of the first state AGs to catch on to the Catholic "charities" sham at the border. In February 2024, he sued a Catholic NGO in El Paso for "alien harboring, human smuggling, and operating a stash house."

Texas sues immigration nonprofit, claiming it engaged in smuggling
