Trump rips LA Mayor Karen Bass at wildfire briefing: ‘You have emergency powers, just like I do’
https://nypost.com/2025/01/24/us-news/trump-rips-la-mayor-karen-bass-at-wildfire-briefing/
By meeting with Mayor Bass in a public forum, Trump let Californians see the contrast between a practical man of the people and an ideology-bound Marxist nut.
Trump is precisely the President we need right now, now that California’s ‘Democrat’ Marxist knuckleheads have painted, sanctuaried, debted, droughted and burned themselves into a helpless corner.
Trump-proof California? Ha! He’s got them over a barrel and like in the Old West, that’s all they’ve got to wear. Pull/withhold all Federal funding and the curs will follow him around like hungry puppies, like Newsom did yesterday. It won’t happen overnight and there will yet be many feathers ruffled as the mad wet hens get used to their new overlord.
They have bit the hand of the Californians that feed them long enough. Time for a Golden State Regime Change!
I loved that line!
It’s the truth!
LA Mayor Karen Bass’s approval rating tanks, 43% in blue city would even vote Republican: poll
Meanwhile...
Cutting assinine red tape: My idea!! Just put a sign on your lot and mark the bounds with flagged poles. You can enter all the data at a site called "Cleaning House inn LA".
A truck will show up at a designated time and you can sign right then and watch it happen.
It would be a good idea to photograph the event in addition to the numbers on any trucks.
I’ve lived the housing booms of
California in 1968. Petaluma.
Dad and I were sheetrockers.
Tract homes of an average of 1800
sq ft. We easily could rock a
house per day.
But many specialized crews such as
us made up the force to see the
houses done. There were the concrete
guys, framers, electricians,
plumbers, insulators, roofers,
tapers, painters, flooring,
landscaping, stucco, hvac.
I’ve been out of this scene for
quite some time, but remember well
the pride of a well done job, and
the reputation of being some of
the best.
There were no Mexicans on the job
sites bsck then. Only whites and
blacks.
LA has a monsterous task ahead
of them.
LA resident:
“how long they decide to rent out other homes and other important arrangements are dependent on the timeline for rebuilding”
Anybody dependent on blow hards like Newsom and Bass for timelines is toast.
The likely timeline is at least five years—no matter what the politicians tell them.
Even then they will be rebuilding in a desolate area that has nothing in common with the pre-fire community.
LA, you likely didn't vote for that.
Secure your elections before it's too late.
> The likely timeline is at least five years—no matter what the politicians tell them.
If you are correct, the fire restoration will not be complete before 2030. But the olympics are at least for the moment scheduled to be held in LA in 2028. So from your prediction, everyone attending the 2028 olympics will see the LA fire recovery while still in a partially-complete reconstruction state at best...
Question...with this Olympics business...want there be some arson-freaks out there and starting fires to derail the Olympics?
Olympic events will be spread throughout the LA metro area.
That said—the bulk of the activities will be on the UCLA campus.
It was totally unaffected by the fires.
The LA metro area is 34,000 square miles.
For comparison the state of CT is less than 6,000 square miles.
The Power Play is so real. IF local Cali authorities don’t allow residents in to their properties THIS MORNING, those officials will have the people (resident tax payers & voters) holding them responsible. Trump has spoken: Contradict him at your peril.
A sentiment so very true, but..
The Golden State election process is firmly gripped by the Democrat/Communists. Ballot Harvesting, provisional ballots,
and absentee ballots are so structured that weeks will pass before the election boards have accumulated enough
"Democrat" votes to then announce the Democratic Party winner.
cities tend to want to put their best foot forward for the olympics. for this purpose they build new sport arenas, subways, and hotels, renovate their city centers, and hide urban blight. all of this requires capital investment and planning. the fires suck capital and planning away from the olympics and put a political black eye on local politicians. this is not good for business which normally expects to grow as a result of investing for the olympics.
by the way, why was newsom not present during the fire station powow with trump and bass? did he have some more important wine tasting party to attend?
having the meeting at a fire station was a political master stroke presuming it was planned by trump. firepeople are very pro-maga in california at the station level.
LA really is different than “normal cities”.
It is so spread out.
There are great parts of the city and awful ghettos.
In the case of Olympics it is trivial to schedule events in nice areas and avoid the bad ones.
Decades ago I lived in Mission Viejo.
It is 48 miles from downtown Los Angeles.
When I lived there the “LA Olympics” happened. That included a bicycle race in Mission Viejo. It was a great event where everyone came out of their homes on to the sidewalk and watch the racers go by....
Sorry, that would be an area 340 miles by 100 miles, or from L.A. to San Francisco, and from L.A. to Palm Springs. It's more like 3,400 square miles.
