Denmark has made it clear they don't intend to part with THEIR SOVEREIGN TERRITORY.
That’s fine. Would they give it to China? Because there’s no guarantee of that and it would be a problem
Take over Denmark too. We sign a pact with Russia, they get ALL of Ukraine and we get Denmark and territories. It’s called Manifest Destiny!
Dangerous? Like what is Greenland going to do about it??
Didn't they completely empty their stocks of 155mm shells and offered their last few tanks to Ukraine?
Globalist cucks!
Greenland can declare independence.
If Denmark is smart, they'll make a deal now.
Greenland would certainly be valuable, but bullying isn’t a good look.
I assume Trump is overreaching in demands to set up a negotiation for less.
I would take these reports with a grain of salt from EU members, the Financial Times and The Atlantic
Not necessarily. If Greenlanders vote for it, they could be part of our fold
"Might is right".
“Soft power” with allies is a real thing, unless p#*$ed away.
...European officials told the Financial Times.
Wow, I sure hope they were nice reliable anonymous sources, and not just a supervisor of toll stations or a cemetery inspector.
They need to take the money and let it go.
Greenland is part of NATO so it's not going to China.
They’re not really our allies. At least not in the North and the West.
Back to bad phone calls, eh? Where’s the not this again guy?
LOL!
All schtick.
The US is not annexing Greenland.
But interesting to read about!
Greenland has the right to vote for independence.
A deal with the USA would offer the Greenlanders security and economic advantages.
The Danes are hyperventilating but it is a win win for USA & Greenland to make a deal. Leaving Greenland independent with a treaa\ty could accomplish America’s aims just as well.
President Franklin D. Roosevelt took a strong personal interest in Greenland’s fate. On 9 April 1941, the anniversary of the German occupation, the Danish envoy Kauffmann, against the instructions of his government, signed an executive agreement with Secretary of State Cordell Hull, allowing the presence of American troops and making Greenland a de facto United States protectorate. The cryolite mine in Ivigtut was a unique asset that made it possible for Greenland to manage fairly well economically during the war. The United States supplied the island and sent patrol boats to survey the east coast of Greenland although this activity was limited by seasonal ice. The Coast Guard, in coordination with Eske Brun, created the Northeast Greenland Sledge Patrol, consisting of 15 men, many of them former hunters in the area. Their task was to patrol the coast to discover any German activity. However, in 1941 there was no such landing, although the Norwegian resupply trawler Buskø was encountered in September. Among its otherwise innocuous crew and passengers was a civilian Norwegian who intended to provide weather reports for German contacts in Norway. This ship was seized and brought to Boston by the Coast Guard. In 1941, Royal Navy ships continued to interfere with weather stations on the east coast. A couple of reconnaissance aircraft from Norway flew over Scoresbysund.
Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen
So what would be the pejorative nickname for his sympathisers here on FR? Meepers? Freepers? Oh, wait...
The way the world works is bribery.
Offer the PM enough money and all their outrage will turn to gratitude.
