How are the messages TO her a problem?

They’d reflect more on the person sending them than the person receiving them.

The messages they want to suppress are the ones sent by the GOP congressman (according to this article), because they may be sexually explicit or otherwise embarrassing. That's my take on it.

She was 24, young, and hot. Did we think Congress critters are a bunch of do-gooders? From what I have seen at the state level reps and senators it would not surprise me one bit if this were true and that offers were coming from both sides of the aisle. Frankly speaking they all work in close proximity with one another and there are certainly numerous liaisons inside the office and interoffice maneuvering that takes place. Sex is a powerful motivator. If I were young and in DC working she would be on the radar and a target.

You hit the nail on the head. That is the problem. The whole place seems to run on sex, coke and money.
