Some treatment plan somewhere is missing these. They are called porous filter balls and are used in water and wastewater treatment. Since they had fecal matter, start looking at the sewage treatment plants

I saw that on a wall in a public restroom over 50 years ago ... I’ll bet you were the person that wrote those word of wit. I also remember this one when they stated charging 10 cents to use one of those restrooms:
