we would also cross the border to buy Brador and Molson Extra Stock. This was back in the 1980s when beer in NY was low alcohol content.

Ah, the good old days in the 80's. I can still vividly recall putting the Bradors and exports in the snowbank in front of the car at Jay Peak as our reward when we finished the day skiing. Little things like that were things we still talk/laugh about to this day.

Does anyone remember Black Label beer in New york? It was my father’s favorite, and what I wouldn’t give to have a taste of it.

Back in the 1980s there was also OV/Rolling Rock Splits night on Mondays at Mulligans Brick Bar in the Allentown section of Buffalo.
It was a big hang out for the college kids. It was called the brick bar because the walls and floor were brick

On Mondays they would sell you a case of OV Spits(7 oz
Old Vienna bottles). Dump ice over the case and open up all 24 bottles. They had old metal milk crates scattered around the bar to collect all the bottles. Eventually bottles were dropped. So the brick floor would be a blend of beer and glass by the end of the night.

At the end of the night they would sweep up the glass, hose down the floor and down the drains in the floor.

I believe it is still there, but they no longer sell OV Splits of beer by the case.
