My house has both. And gas is so much better and cheaper.

Gas is definitely better.

No comparison, Gas is the way to go. If you have a power outage you can warm a pretty large home with small generator. All it has to do is run the fans.

Gas is dirt cheap compared to electricity too. Gas dryers work really well to

When I had my first heat pump, I was told that at “low” temperatures, the heat pump could not successfully gather enough heat to keep the house warm, that strip heaters supplement the heat pump. And strip heaters require lots of amps to function. And the resistance in the service lines are tremendous. As a result, I much prefer natural gas heating systems.

“Oil is actually king.”

It’s good alternative to natural gas in rural and far left states.

Biden’s newcomers will be happy to smuggle heating oil to where it is desired if necessary.

Gas. Only one transfer of heat. Wins every time.

Gas heaters do not require electricity to provide heat.
Electric heat, by definition requires, well you know….
If the power goes out your propane heater still works.

I’m in East Texas, (nothing like the SD winters I experienced as a child) and we have a wood stove we love. It’s near freezing outside and I’m in shorts sitting in front of the fire. I’m just trying to continue the tradition of centuries of men staring into fires.

My family happened to switch to the new all electric heat when I was a kid. Panels in each room with a glass element in a metal frame.

I was pictured on the living room floor putting together a 12 inch plastic model Cadillac while my mother pretended to read to my younger sister.

The picture was part of a national advertising brochure of electric homes and our color pictures were illuminated in big displays at the builders’ show in Detroit and elsewhere. Awesome.

“The Liberty NexGen-Hybrid™ is a big stove made for heating large homes and living spaces.”

“The huge firebox and fire viewing area allow you to load wood up to 24” long and fully appreciate the splendor of the fire. It also features a single control to adjust air flow, making it easy to achieve burn times up to 18 hours. The Liberty’s step-top design is enchanting yet functional, providing cooking and warming surfaces as well as radiant and convective heat. No one used rubber hoses to supply gas from the valve to the appliance. Brass flex lines were used and sold at all hardware stores. A rubber line is for gasoline, diesel or kerosene.
Dang, where did you come up with that nonsense?

The problem with heat pumps is the air temp while hot is lower than body temp resulting in a sensation of cold drafts.

We are in Southern CA & seldom need heat. My wife doesn’t like smell of gas heater, so we use small electric heaters. Gas for water heater. Our gas bill is around 25.00/mo.

Our Generic puts out plenty of power for our gas furnace since only 110 is needed.

We also cook with gas as hate electric stoves.
We also have a free standing gas unit in the living room with works with battery controls is we need to shut down the genny.

We have the Endeavor 2020 model. We bought it in Cooperstown off of craigslist. Backstory was a NYC leftist thought the end of the world was coming and bought three of them, along with a house in a VERY rural area.

She sold it a year later (country living wasn’t for her) LOL

This one is working in conjunction with a vintage Vermont Castings Defiant.
