Reading an article about how prepper packages are a waste of money. What suggestions do Freeper preppers have? Example: where does one find bulk, dried fruit? Use of mylar bags with grains & storage? Are you constantly rotating foods in/out? What lasts long in storage?

When COVID hit I started buying 30 day emergency food supplies. Like 1 every month of every couple of months. Have enough now for like at least a year for the wife and I. And yes, I know it’s cheaper to make your own but this was quick and easy. That being said we have put up other things like salt in food buckets with desiccant.
As cgbc said if you live in a city or even a suburb move out somewhere more remote. Doesn’t have to be very far but just not in prominent neighbordhood. Roving gangs are going to hit the suburbs first when they’re looking for food and loot. If you move make sure you have a source of fresh water on your property or close enough to walk.
