I think sometimes, there are stages where you just have to settle back and be a “Hallmark” grandparent, assuming there are grandchildren. Perhaps , as you would reflect back, your own parents may have perceived some of the things you did in a similar light. Then, hope, with time and experience, your children will rediscover those old relationships with you as a long-lost treasure.
