Deep ice core samples show a drastic weather pattern change on Earth, with continuous periods of cooling and warming, that align with the Milankovic cycles, roughly every 10K to 12K years.
He’s a few thousand years off.
Well, the really big swings are every (roughly) 100k years.
Of note though, other natural causes of “disaster” exist. Vulcanism, for sure, asteroid hits, pandemics (like the “Black Death”, and in our electronics dependent age, a very high end solar storm.
Didn’t Stephen Hawking (and Elon Musk) postulate “a setback to civilization” every 1000 years or so? Seems about right.

every transition equals 1 year
then when i went into silviculture i learned a tree can, and sometimes does , have more rings than years.
the tree , due to micro climate variables, can go dormant at a cold snap, then start growing after it warms up and can put on more than one ring a year
ice core “scientists” seem to think there can only be 1 thaw feeeze cycle a day
thats obviously not true.
my skepticism of experts, phds, and “ scientists started with these facts.
