As a result, he has CTE.
So you see the league doing more to protect the QBs even though it's making the game "soft".
It ain’t looking good for the Texans….. that missed first- half FG looms large….
Not to mention the overhyped Mahomes...
There’s an old story about Johnny U getting clobbered by some lineman,‘breaking his nose and blood streaming….!he grabbed some dirt, rubbed it in and kept playing. It may be apocryphal.
Case in point for the “KC Kelcie/Swift” conspiracy. I’m following the game on a live feed right now (DH refuses to watch the Chiefs) ... the video with the most views by far? Not the touchdowns, nor the big runs ... no, it’s Taylor Swift talking to Caitlin Clark. 2nd highest is Kelcie’s TD, probably because they might have shown TAYLOR!!! Eeeeee! at the end.
Bad offensive line and bad kicker doomed the Texans.
Yep, I totally understand about CTE and needing to protect the players BUT Jalen Hurts and other QBs get flung down/hit hard all the time and the refs rarely call it unless egregious.
Mahomes seems to get calls that others don’t (he also takes flops and rolls around “hurt” but jumps up the next second and takes of running for a big gain)
— and it does change the outcome of the series/game.
Regardless… I think this more of a game the Texans lost than the Chiefs won. But good teams take advantage of their opponents mistakes…. If you leave a door open they storm through!
So tomorrow’s winner is going to KC….
Well, one can say what one wants about Mahomes and Kelce and Company….but they know how to win.
I would add Andy Reid too.
It will take a much better game from the Chiefs to beat either the Bills or the Ravens.
I think it's time for a rule change.
In six-man football, the quarterback (QB) cannot run the ball past the line of scrimmage. Instead, the QB must hand off, pitch, or throw the ball to another player. Explanation The player who receives the snap cannot advance the ball past the line of scrimmage. This rule prevents plays like the scramble or bootleg. The QB can become an eligible receiver after crossing the line of scrimmage. Many teams use an up-back to take the snap and then pitch the ball to the QB. The QB can then run or pass the ball.
You were right….
GMTA…. Unfortunately wrong.
I didn’t watch, but just reading the play-by-play it was obvious the Texans didn’t protect Stroud much at all and they left points on the field. Never a winning formula.
I know the Chiefs are a dominating team and very, very talented ... it’s just the Taylor Swift idolization that annoys me more than anything. I’m so tired of the hype, and I half-way think it’s all a publicity stunt.
(and yeah, I admit to being a little jealous of any woman who can keep lipstick on for hours like that! :P )
Genius play on the punt to take the safety. Game over.
He is awesome. And turns it on for the big games. The hype matches the performance. Chiefs await winner of the Bills - Ravens.
Bring on the Commajders - Lions.
I refuse to call them the Commanders — bland, nothing name. It’s either the Washington Football Team (Ha!) or the Redskins (I’m allowed, I’m part Pamunkey, small Virginia tribe)
They should have kept the WFT (or WTF)…. It was better than Commanders.
