Jimmy Carter helped put “born again” Christianity on the map in America. He made a big deal about his having accepted Jesus as his Savior and Lord. Many conservatives were disappointed with his governance, but no one could deny his consistent profession of faith.
When the 100-year-old former president’s funeral service was held in the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C., it was odd that there was a mixture of beautiful Christian sacred music, along with Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood singing John Lennon’s atheistic ballad, “Imagine.”

Expect nothing less from wokenista C&W libs. Always hated that song.
A great many people listen to songs without every trying to understand the lyrics.
“Imagine” was and is a push for atheism and a claim that man, at heart, is “good”.
It is an denial of reality.
We were as much suckers 50 years ago as we are today.
If the spin didn’t work, they wouldn’t bother with it.
Carter may have begun as a born again Christian, but his declining trust in Scripture and the influence of his liberal friend group shaped him to the left over time.
It's pretty hard to screw up economic policies bad enough to warrant a 21% prime rate of interest, but Carter managed to do it. Indeed, my ranking for the worst Presidents in history starts with: 1) Carter, 2) Obama, and 3) Biden. Never in the history of this Republic have so few screwed up so much in so little time.

“Imagine” has a pretty melody and is well crafted. But IMHO it’s a song of absolute despair. Lennon’s lyrics seem that of one who has lost all hope, knowing all he imagines can never happen in secular Earth. Odd it would sung at a professing Christian’s funeral. Wonder who selected that song? Seems almost a middle finger to our 39th president’s professed faith.
IIRC, towards the end of his life, Lennon pretty much distanced himself from it.
Imagine was a song, nothing more, nothing less. You like or hate it much like Carter.
Jesus Christ said you can’t serve two masters. By supporting abortion and sexual confusion, Jimmah appears to have thought otherwise.
Jimmy was a born-again Democrat atheist who professed Christianity, but believed in abortion, homosexual weddings and all the other things that are anti-decency.
He was a tremendously failed president.

Basically Jim Jones without the Kool-Aid.
I can deny his faith!
His actions did not match up to his confession!
I’ve read where Lennon hated Jimmy Carter, but loved Ronald Reagan.
