Just one other somewhat obscure reference:
Mark Hall claimed to have been contacted by “tall whites” in the Nevada desert north of Area 51—he wrote five books on the subject.
Buried in one paragraph was their admission that they were not really from some distant star—they have lived underneath the Nevada desert for centuries....
This makes sense—matches Native American myths in that area.
At this point they might not even know their true point of origin before they came here—but the claim of distant stars was just nonsense they fed to curious humans they encountered.

They are earth people who are from and live on earth, or are space aliens who have been here for centuries, which I think still counts as what people say are space aliens visiting us and accounting for all the UFO stuff, they just hide out somewhere on earth in between sightings and probings.
