Not a Marine here, but I’m pretty sure the test had a maximum of 300 in the 1970s. Not sure about the exact year 1970 or earlier.
It was 300 Points,100 points for each event.
80 sit-ups in 2 minutes (as i recall).
20 Pullups (factual) and 3 Mile run, 18:00 or under for perfect score.
Did the 80 situps, 20 pullups (straight arms not curl) and did the 3 mile in 19:10. I credit another recruit with giraffe legs that motivated me to run with him.
True story, I started to heave right before finish line while continuing to run. LOL. I may have gotten 19:00 or slightly less time had I not. Our PT test was done right after chow,
Didn't get the perfect 300.
