“Can you really sign an executive order to circumvent a law passed by Congress?”

It still has to be enforced by other agencies. He does have some bit of control over how it is enforced through EO.

“Apparently 4 years ago they were collecting info that created a national security threat.”

Then restrict those who have government secrets from using it. Those could very well have been shared the same on any other platform like Facebook or Twitter. Or even here for that matter. Public is public no matter from what source. Those with secrets should not be using ANY of those platforms at all for this type of information. So it is not the platform, it is those who use them to share secrets who is at fault here.

The responsibility is not on the platform it is on the user to be prudent.

Re: 40 - there’s a lot more data that is shared with TikTok.

And like it or not, TikTok data is subject to being shared with the PRC.

TikTok is shared with everyone in the world not just China. It is a PUBLIC PLATFORM.

What data??? And who’s responsibility was it to keep that data from a PUBLIC platform?

There is no difference with public shared data whether it be TikTok, Facebook, Twitter, or the FR. There is probably more sensitive data shared to the public here on the FR than on TikTok. You are allowing the government psyop to play you like a fiddle because of your blind hate for China. I can’t believe you are so willing to trust those who are trying to enslave you... Oh wait, maybe you are in a special class who would be immune to the draconian laws that follows this. The rest of us are NOT.

I will disagree.

TikTik is a public platform which must by law have its data subject to access by the government of China.

There is no difference with public shared data whether it be TikTok, Facebook, Twitter, or the FR. There is probably more sensitive data shared to the public here on the FR than on TikTok.

If you're talking about what is posted on FR, yes a lot of data is posted. If you're talking about data that FR retains, it can be just username and password. I don't even know if they use Google analytics any longer.

Now, let's talk about Tik Tok. When you use their app here is the data used to track you across apps and websites owned by other companies:

Contact Info
Identifiers
And here is the data that may be collected and linked to your identify:

Purchases
Location
Contacts
Search History
Identifiers
Diagnostics
Financial Info
Contact Info
User Content
Browser History
Usage Data
Now that list is not much different than Facebook and X. The difference is that Tik Tok' parent company ByteDance is subject to Chinese national security laws and has been designated a foreign adversary.

You are allowing the government psyop to play you like a fiddle because of your blind hate for China. I can’t believe you are so willing to trust those who are trying to enslave you... Oh wait, maybe you are in a special class who would be immune to the draconian laws that follows this. The rest of us are NOT.

Okay, you need to be informed, as that statement is ignorant. I have no blind hate for China - far from it. What I am for is not having a platform that meets the definition of being controlled by a foreign adversary and that has that amount of retained data. Like it or it not, China has been designated a foreign adversary. If they were not, this would not be nearly the issue.

The FR dropped Google Analytics several years ago. And almost every domain in the world is secretly collecting all the exact same information you listed. Even the official ICCAN site used to utilize 3rd party Google trackers and spyware until I exposed it and they changed it. TikTok is not doing anything that every domain and phone app on the internet is also doing. Even phone game apps do it...

What you are taking about is a common industry standard and secret hidden market all of it’s own. Give me a site, any site, and I can give you a list of the spyware they use... And they ALL use Google spyware.

The FR and only a very very few others do not. In fact I accidentally ran across one in the last year that does not and I absolutely could not believe it also wasn’t loaded up with spyware.
