And, steal from us while proudly announcing how much they are stealing. Every time Jerome Powell speaks of a 2% "inflation" target, he reminds us they will steal 2% of our wealth. "inflation" is theft, performed by printing - essentially "clipping" all existing fiat.

The real problem is almost all this spending, contrary to what many seem to believe here is not defense or foreign aid related. That deficit spending buys huge swathes of political support, forming an iron chain of interest groups, even those who normally would be opposed, to connive with politicians to keep spending more money.

It's a very difficult cycle to break. It requires a President who can stand above it all and use the bully pulpit to force change. We haven't had that kind of leadership for a while. Hopefully Trump has learned his lesson.
