Sigh. I remember how I was introduced to their music. Arrived in 1991 as the only white boy to work in the personnel office on my ship (USN). I had zero dibs on the boom box. Sam and Dave was a favorite of mine. This announcement brings back great memories of a different, adventurous time in my life.

Odd memory as I heard he died. Pushing an 8 track cartridge of their hits into the car tape player. Never got tired of their music.
