The Steam Deck is a custom type PC handheld. Think a Nintendo Switch on steroids. $650 price point vs. $200 for the Switch. It plays PC games on a dedicated type OS, not a full blown version of Windows.
Since it launched a couple of companies have launched competitors that do the same thing. Since it’s a PC gaming device they’re leapfrogging one another for improved specs, battery life and features. It’s not like a console or traditional handheld where you’re locked into hardware for 5–7 years.
Wait…so I’m supposed to be interested to buy a new stupid game device that I already have anyway with my iPhone [nn] Pro Max? I don’t get this uber geeky gaming silliness hype. What’s the big deal?
