Rubber Soul (And Revolver), but it's Motown [AI Creation]
Kail Tescar ^

AI is getting scary. Some YouTuber used AI to create a Motown versions of the Beatle's Rubber Soul and Revolver, and it's much, much better than you might expect. You could listen to it over and over.

They use the same words, but they really revamp the music.

I would say some of it sounds more like Sam Cooke, or other soul music, than specifically Motown, but it stands on it's own.

How is this possible?

Wondering other people’s opinion.

Holding out for the thrash-metal cover of Eleanor Rigby.

That’s crazy.

But... check out Wilson Pickett’s version of “Hey Jude”

(And, yes, he’s not a “Motown” artist, but this is a great take on the song.)

I don’t know whether to be amazed that this can be done, or terrified that the technology allows it to be.

Crazy good, is what it is. Bands have been made obsolete already, now it seems composers and arrangers may be next.

I prefer Wes Montgomery’s “Eleanor Rigby”.

Don’t care for it, and in my opinion, this sort of thing should be made illegal (copyright infringement) unless permission is granted by the owner(s).

I guess they were returning the favor, since the Beatles covered I Got a Woman and Hallelujah I Love Her So by Ray Charles.

I think that there will be future legal maneuvers about this. It just started, so we will see how it shakes out.

I supposed, right now, you can cover a song and pay royalties, in most cases you don't need advance permission.

Wes Montgomery is the premier jazz guitarist. I don't think that is the same genre.

Having said that, I prefer when he is not playing covers of pop songs. But I realize jazz musicians, even then, didn't make a lot of money, so they had to do, what they had to do.

I have found AI Jazz and 50’s versions of Led Zeppelin albums

It’s quite amazing, and a little scary, as it would be nearly impossible for a human to do such.

Yes, a very talented musician could adjust the music style, and record these, but it would be a life’s work.

Listened to two selections: “Taxman” and “Got to Get You Into My Life”.

Beates originals - two distinctly different pieces of work.

AI/Motown - not so much.
