If the politics in California are eventually "right", (not in a political sense but in what is "correct and good"), the burnt out areas of LA, in time, can become the envy of the world.
Utopia could be only a few years away, by 2028 for sure, if you couple a strong leader, like Trump, who easily sees the value of developing prime real estate, matched with a visionary like Elon Musk, who already is making pre-frabricated smart homes.
From the ashes a phoenix, will rise, a 15 minute city that harbors all the best that mankind can believe and achieve.
There is no question, looking at just the climate alone, that the Palisades/Malibu area is probably one of the most perfect areas in the world to live, but because of bad politics it now reflects the outcome of what happens when your political visionaries, have it all wrong.
I have more to provide in future writing, but for now, just think how that area can be rebuilt, if it encompasses the best of modern living technology.
I'd like my fellow Freepers to give me their idea of what constitutes the basic necessities of life and how you can see the area reborn.
For me it's sufficient space for my needs.
I can be happy in an energy efficent 1500sq ft, high ceiling home that has access to modern transportation, cheap energy, unlimited water, food markets, health care and something I call eatertainment, where we have great restaurants, open air theaters, city-golf and pickleball, parks etc. and an area for my grill.
It would be ultra secure, to the point where there would be little to no crime. A little like Japan where people utilize small living places and are respectful of each other.
The homes can be fireproof, windproof, earthquake proof, monsoon proof and even nuclear holocaust proof just for a start.
In short the best of pedestrian living, and yes we would still have our cars.
It will be a blue zone to be sure where people live to be 100 not only because they will live a healthier lifestyle, but because it will have the basic necessities of life that can be provided along with something else ALL blue zones have--a locale where people "socialize."
Fortunately almost all the people in this area, came away with the most precious thing that one holds dear-their loves ones.
If and only if the politics change, the area can be better than it was, and generations of families will live there, rather than move away from their loves ones, like it once was in this country.
Without the gospel of Jesus, men will be men.
And I forgot to say, it will have sidewalks.
Yes, to be sure, that must be a
BIG part of it.
Arson. By illegal aliens.

For those of you under 50 years old, that was the America most here grew up in.
That works in Japan, but it might be difficult to achieve here.

Tesla presents a comprehensive analysis of the key smart home trends in 2025.
Dive into the world of multifunctional technology, advanced automation, AI habit learning, and more, as we explore the exciting developments that promise to transform our living spaces.
Let's dive into the 6 key smart home trends that will shape our homes of the future, and the future is now.
1. Multifunctionality in focus
Multifunctional technology is demanding space: hybrid products that integrate utilities and smart appliances will have a significant impact on the market in the coming years.
Think, for example, of a table that is a clever combination of an LED lamp, a wireless charger, and an air purifier. Soon, our smart robotic lawnmower will not only mow our lawns but will also have a camera that patrols the lawn for safety.
2. Automation on the cube Automation will soon reach new heights. More and more fully automated devices will enter the market, doing their job without external human support.
For example, a smart vacuum cleaner and mopping device that connects to the water supply, cleans itself, and can also supply water to itself. This level of autonomous operation will demonstrate real-world applications of home automation.
3. AI Habit Learning Artificial intelligence is in the air and will soon be an integral part of our smart homes. The next generation of products will use AI to adapt to our habits and optimize their operation based on our lifestyle and daily routine.
Voice assistants will evolve through machine learning, expanding their capabilities. And they will quickly become part of our lives, providing assistance in areas such as ChatGPT.
4. See everything
The global market size for smart home security cameras was $7.37 billion in 2022, with the segment forecast to grow at a compound annual growth rate of 19% between 2023 and 2030. The popularity of smart home security cameras is significantly linked to their ability to effectively prevent burglaries.
Their integration into the smart home ecosystem, their increasingly sophisticated image and video features, and their complex remote control capabilities will further increase their popularity.
5. Smart ecosystem theory Developments in the smart home are increasingly focusing on using technological innovations not only for convenience but also to actively contribute to a more sustainable lifestyle.
Smart irrigation and drip systems, for example, precisely regulate the water demand of plants, taking into account soil conditions, capacity allocation, local weather conditions, or specific plant needs. Such devices can help users save significant amounts of water.
6. Smart BabyTech The rise of "Smart Baby Tech" has revolutionized both childcare and child-rearing, offering innovative approaches to integrating technology and human care.
Smart baby monitors, wearable health trackers, and interactive learning devices are just a few examples of the high-tech devices that are becoming increasingly popular among parents who want to provide a safer digital and physical environment for their children.
7. Smart hosts The global market for smart pet technology was $5.12 billion in 2021 and is expected to grow to $22 billion by 2028. New solutions emerging in this segment will have a crucial impact on how we care for our pets in the future. From automatic pet feeders and water dispensers to Smart baby monitors and smart GPS collars, there are a range of tech gadgets already waiting for owners and their pets.
The year 2024 holds the promise of transformation, where smart home trends will not only impact our living space, but also enhance the quality of our lives and offer more me-time.
"These trends mark the intertwining of technology, convenience, and intelligence, and point us towards a more efficient and definitely exciting future,” analyzed Viktor Hajicek, Managing CEO of Tesla Smart.
100% right.
There would have to be a wholesale revamping of what we teach our children. There’s nothing wrong with a Ten Commandments education.
In Japan, nothing is tied down in their Apple Stores. Why? Because no one there would ever think about stealing.
If the society interacted to the point where you would know your neighbor as well as your baker, fish monger, tailor, drug store and the policeman “walking” your beat etc etc, you would have what was good about our country, that was like that only a few generations ago,
Great idea, plus God as #2 post indicated.
Being “Smart” and “connected” means loss of privacy and imprisoned. Also AI has more faults at its core and that is before you add the human condition (Which always goes sideways). No thanks, anything programmed is mostly garbage in and garbage out. This techno lust is getting out-of-control, especially mixed with the globohomo clown world being shoved down our throats from both sides of the aisle.
Hope in one hand...
Seriously, though: I do not willfully participate in this fleecing of the federal treasury and, by consequence, taxpayers who do not share southern california’s aberrant beliefs.
$135 billion was the latest figure this morning on FR.
This was all by design and I object.
High tech folks burned down Lahina for their own interests. Those people are not as rich. Remember Oakland Hills 1989(?).
Trump could declare it a federal land and develop it his way. Put Baron in charge. No special interests involved.
Alex Jones had it right. LA was burnt down to rebuild an elitist utopia smart city just in time for the Olympics.
Leave President Trump and Elon out of it. CA inept policies brought this dusaster on itself.
T
Question...
Where are they going to put the tent people?
Like I said if the politics are bad, it’s not gonna work. What you describe is bad politics.
I can come up with a lot of reasons not to do something, but I would rather hear about what someone like you thinks when it comes to the kind of place you like to live in.
I agree with you 100%. In fact, I failed to make that clear in what I wrote.
We have to maintain our freedoms all the bill of rights, including the ability to arm ourselves.
But there’s no question a moral deterioration in the lives living in our big cities, especially those run by Democrats.
I know it’s a pipe dream because the people in California are entrenched.
I was reading some of the X responses from people in that area. Surprisingly a good number of them support Gavin Newsom, and feel that Trump is politicizing the whole thing.
There’s no question we risk having people like these left-wingers always wanting to control our lives not theirs. They want those socialized communes. Not you or me.
I’m thinking of a place where people are God-fearing and actually like their neighbor.
Can you imagine what the building regulations are gonna be? They’re not gonna allow anybody to build anything resembling what I’m talking about.
There’ll be so many limitations and restrictions. Nothing‘s gonna get built.
Maybe then, they’ll vote somebody in there who is common sense minded
My hunch is the government will build the smart cities, then let people move in...just like the China ghost cities.

And, Briben has promised to pay 100% of recovery efforts, for 180 days.
Meanwhile...NC residents are lucky to even get $750.00.
