What percentage of the employees outside fighting the fires are men? I bet it is rather high. The women want their share of the senior jobs, but they don’t want the underlying dangerous jobs. Ditto military, bricklaying, etc.

The problem with Malibu is that a lot of the construction there was quite old and derelict. They couldn't widen the PCH through parts of it because the old shops and some homes came right up to the edge of the road, and behind that was cliffs. I moved to LA right after the huge Malibu fires in 1994 that resulted in the El Niño landslides of 1994/5. the entire hillside next to Malibu Creek came down and they were reconstructing that bridge and hillside for a long time. They were able to take the homes and shops in that area after they were destroyed in the landslide.

I think this was purposeful and intentional. They want that property. Smart Cities cannot just be plugged into existing infrastructure, they need to start from "scratch." 2028 Olympics are not very far away and they'd like to have this all rebuilt by then, and you can be certain they won't be allowing the former homeowners in those areas to rebuild.

Part two will be coming up after a huge rainstorm.... with all the vegetation burned off, that area will collapse the hillsides onto the PCH.

As a 60+ woman I will GLADLY agree with your statement.

Having gone from the Liberal to the Conservative way of life I can assure you the statement is spot on.

Unfortunately, even the majority of males in CA only FEEL about things and react even worse, thus we ended up with Liberal (women-ish) women in power.

I remember when the state of CA was RED and it was a glorious state.

They’re also good at blaming folks who are low on the ladder for all sorts of failures. And I don’t mean just after emergencies. I mean routinely.

I’m a retired public school teacher. I’ve had quite a few female supervisors over the years. They were tough old gals…most of them were okay, overall.

Except for the last group. They were all young DEI hires. Many were lesbians. All of a sudden, very effective teachers were being written up for poor performance. Some of those teachers had even won teaching awards.

No matter. Heads must roll! (Just not any gay heads.)
