This has renewed concerns over Thailand's booming elephant tourism industry, which animal rights groups have long criticised as unethical and dangerous.

The once endangered Thai elephant is now thriving, partly due to Thailand's elephant tourism industry.

But it doesn't matter what humans do, animal activists will criticize all human activity.

I was there in the ‘60s for a few years, there were elephants everywhere but most of them were in Chains and harvesting teak.
