He's a gun-owning truck-driving Trump supporter but he wants some tasty vegan options when going out to eat. Sometimes it's simply that.
My daughter has an EXTREME dairy sensitivity (not life-threatening, but pretty bad). She likes meat just fine, and while she can have Wendy's chili, I got her an apple/pecan salad (hold the bleu cheese) as my wife thinks we need more vegetables.
After she got sick, she checked the ingredients on-line . . . lactose powder on the pecans. What the heck?! Anyway, I am grateful for a local vegan dessert place where I can get her a treat once in a while without worrying (I have iced tea). So, these outlets have a place, and they are not all hard left.

As an aside, I’m currently pre-diabetic, so I’m carefully monitoring ingredients lists for added sugar. I went to the store yesterday and picked up my usual canned veggies, and discovered that the Great Value canned sweet peas contained peas, water, SUGAR and salt. Huh???
The unsalted version had no added sugar either, so I got those instead.
