Wayne Osmond has died from a stroke at the age of 73.
The Osmonds legend's passing on New Year's Day was confirmed by his family in an emotional statement to KTVX.
'Wayne Osmond, beloved husband and father, passed away peacefully last night surrounded by his loving wife and five children,' the family's statement obtained by local ABC affiliate KTVX read.
'His legacy of faith, music, love, and laughter have influenced the lives of many people around the world.
'He would want everyone to know that the gospel of Jesus Christ is true, that families are forever, and that banana splits are the best dessert. We love him and will miss him dearly.'
Merrill Osmond shared that his brother 'had a massive stroke.' He said upon hearing the news he immediately drove to the hospital and 'was able to say [his] goodbyes.'
His famous siblings include Marie Osmond and Donny Osmond of the 1970s variety show Donny & Marie.
The Utah native was the second-oldest of the original Osmond Brothers singers and the fourth oldest of the nine Osmond children.
Wayne is the first of the Osmond siblings to pass away.
His siblings include singer and TV star Marie Osmond as well as famed singer Donny Osmond.
Donny and Marie were world famous for their 1970s variety show that was the top show of its day and included guests such as Cher and Olivia Newton-John.
Both Donny and Marie also competed on Dancing With The Stars.
Wayne and his family started singing at a young age and came to fame in the 1960s when performing at Disneyland.
That led to several appearances on the popular variety show The Andy Williams show. The Mormon family became known for being close knit and wholesome.

RIP Wayne Osmond
Thanks for the wholesome entertainment.
Osmands were huge in popularity.
You had the Osmonds and the Jacksons.
With one break-out brother and younger sisters who became quite successful also.
I see old song charts from the 70’s and I’m struck by how many hits the Osmonds or Donny Osmond had.
Time continues its relentless March.
Weird that Wayne died, but the story is about Donny and Marie.
Ironic and rather sad, that Donny and Marie become the focal point, and not their older brother who just died.
Not too surprising, though, since apparently, he never distinguished himself as an entertainer or anything else, except for being part of The Osmond Family.
That alone is still something to be proud of.
Most family acts never ever make it that big, or for so long.
what???? Math is hard.
Guess I missed that one, whoever they ere.
Only an unattached name.
Maybe they mean the first three Osmond children were girls.
I think.
Some older brothers were not part of the singing group. If I remember correctly, they were born deaf.
They had nine children: Virl, Tom, Alan, Wayne, Merrill, Jay, Donny, Marie, and Jimmy. Virl and Tom were both born with severe hearing impairments.
Osmond had nine children with his wife Olive:
George Virl Osmond Jr. (born October 19, 1945)
Thomas Rulon Osmond (born October 26, 1947)
Alan Ralph Osmond (born June 22, 1949)
Melvin Wayne Osmond (August 28, 1951-January 1, 2025)
Merrill Davis Osmond (born April 30, 1953)
Jay Wesley Osmond (born March 2, 1955)
Donald Clark “Donny” Osmond (born December 9, 1957)
Olive Marie Osmond (born October 13, 1959, her father’s 42nd birthday)
James Arthur Osmond (born April 16, 1963)
The Osmond Brothers’ career began in 1958 when Alan, Wayne, Merrill, and Jay began singing barbershop music for local audiences in and around Ogden (Jay was only 3).
They were later joined by younger siblings Donny and Jimmy, both of whom enjoyed success as solo artists
George and Thomas were never part of the group, thus Wayne was the second oldest of the group.
There were about 5 Osmond singers and 9 children total apparently
5 on the Flip Wilson show:

Merrill is the main singer and then Donny Osmond
I heard that the two oldest Osmond brothers caught a virus when they were very young and it caused them to be deaf.
That’s what it was. The reason the Osmonds had their kids sing was to buy hearing aids for the other kids who were deaf.
This can’t be a real journalist. Either a corrupt journalist who used AI to turn something in fast and sloppy, or the paper changed policy to allow AI written articles.
Alan Osmond and his son David were diagnosed with multiple sclerosis on top of it all.
Rest In Peace, Wayne.
The two oldest Osmond brothers are Tom and Virl who are hearing impaired and were not part of the Osmond brothers musical act who performed on stage.
I heard the Osmonds recorded a more typical rock music album, which they wanted to do. The record company accepted it under a pseudonym, but once they found out it was the Osmonds, they dropped it.
Marie is the only girl. The nine children born from the union of George and Olive Osmond were Virl, Tom, Alan, Wayne, Merrill, Jay, Donny, Marie and Jimmy.
