Thousands of ancient couples used to swear by the life changing and circumstance improving effects of sacrifice to Molech.
Who’s to say they were wrong?
God? The greek word φαρμακεία (from which the English word "pharmacy" comes) appears 3 times in the bible. Each time it refers to gaining entrance to the supernatural realm by the use of drugs. I myself have dropped acid a BUNCH and done mushrooms and peyote (no ayahuasca). I can tell you categorically that drugs are a pathway into another dimension of reality, one that is inhabited by hypersomatic beings of towering intellect who hate humans for bearing the image of God.
Over the years, I have gotten used to folks rolling their eyes at the reactionary fundie here, wailing about the evil spirits and all.
In the west, there has been "less" danger because we are largely deluded by another lie, which is rationalistic empiricism, leading us to put drugs mostly in the "fun" category. That was me.
However the peril of being dominated by beings unseen is a real one. Revelation lists φαρμακειῶν (same root word) along with murder, theft, sexual misconduct as the things which bring God's wrath.
I don't know what I think about microdosing as a way to influence the general "mood" without propelling you full bore into another dimension of reality.
The root of all this presupposes a sort of cosmic dualism of two worlds existing together, with both of them being real. I realize this sounds like nonsense to your modern empiricist, but that is also a part of conversion for a Christian, who believes that trusting in the forgiveness of the resurrected Christ also means he is "born again" into a consciousness of spiritual things which drugs attempts to counterfeit.
