Congressman Thomas Massie (R-KY) – one of Governor Ron DeSantis’s most prominent supporters and lay advisers – will vote against efforts to hold Democrat Rep. Adam Schiff accountable for peddling Russia-gate conspiracies which led to countless conflicts in U.S. politics, and millions spent by authorities “investigating” the matter.
Massie’s Congressional colleague Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) filed a motion to “censure, condemn, and fine” Rep. Schiff (D-CA) for pushing Russia-gate even after the Durham Report concluded the federal investigation into alleged Trump-Russia links had been baseless and biased..
Schiff is renowned for telling outright lies in an effort to destabilize a sitting President of the United States, stymieing the popular will of the American public for his ideological end goals. For that, Rep. Luna wants to fine Schiff up to $16 million – “half the cost of Russia investigation” – for his “egregious abuse of trust”. Massie has indicated he will not support her.
“Adam Schiff acted unethically but if a resolution to fine him $16 million comes to the floor I will vote… against it,” Massie wrote on social media.
“The Constitution says the House [of Representatives] may make its own rules but we can’t violate other (later) provisions of the Constitution,” he added, insisting that “[a] $16 million fine is a violation of the 27th and 8th amendments.”
Massie has failed to outline how fining Schiff – a power indeed granted to the Congress – would violate the 27th Amendment, which concerns the salary of elected members, or the 8th Amendment, which is about fines for criminal activity, not political malfeasance. Rep. Massie’s office can be reached here.
Whhhhhaaaat whaaaah.
Enough of the Massie carp!
Happy New Year!
It doesn’t cross the 27th amendment.
As for the 8th… well, 16 million doesn’t seem excessive to me.
Dear good people of the Great State of Kentucky.
Please vote Mister Massie out of the House at the next primary election.
We true GOPers will send $$$s for the qualified opponent's campaign.
Schiff needs to be prosecuted and drawn and quartered.
WTELF For! GD gutless Republican $h!tbag.
Congressman Massie a consistent opponent of wasteful federal spending which others don’t want to end because it benefits their business interests IMHO.
Pharma needs Medicare to cover their products.
Defense needs to sell new weapons systems to the US military.
Tech gets lucrative contracts as well.
+1
Massie is tired of Republican House “leaders” who take direction from the Democrats, instead of their own voters. From Boehner to Ryan to McCarthy to Johnson every GOP speaker has failed to implement “regular order”, has used massive end of year “omnibus” bills which are totally filled with corrupt “pork” and cut nothing and rely on Democrat votes. If this is what you and Trump want, more debt and more Deep State, then go ahead - install Johnson. That is what Massie does not want. Good for him.

Do you realize who wants the speaker turmoil most? It's the Dems, as they see a chance to swipe the SOTH.
DJT sees this, hopefully you will as well.
In 2016 DJT endorsed Paul Ryan who then led the GOP to terrible spending and other bills and the GOP lost the majority in 2018. Massie voted against Ryan. Massie has been more right on this than Trump, unless you like the way Ryan and McCarthy and Johnson have performed so far. I think Johnson is the same as all the prior Uniparty Speakers. If you keep doing the same thing you will get the same results.
Oh really? To this day he is crying about that scumbag McCarthy being removed. I’ll bet he was one of the 20 traitors who voted against Jordon. They think we forgot about that one.
OK, let’s pretend that Johnson backed away and the House did not vote to fund the government. Where would we be today? Personally, I see the very strong possibility that Congress would not be able to approve Trump for President, because we would not be organized to do so.
Massie is an idiot for trying to push us to the brink. He needs to learn to cut his losses.
So, who do you think has the best chance to effect change?
President Trump who needs a Speaker of the House to certify the election and move forward with great set of nominees?
Or Massie who wants to grind everything to a halt?
Massie is a zero-sum conservative and a grandstander!
Okay, so that's a good reason to make Pelosi SOTH?
We have 2 years to put MAGA into effect. What previous speakers have yielded is arguing off the point.
Listen to DJT. He gets it.
Someone needs to rein in that Massie attention whore. What is his effing PROBLEM?
DJT recommended Paul Ryan. He gets it. He also still recommends the vaccine and the boosters.
