I was arguing with my bro about this last year, he is a total Lions fan - even stuck with them when they went 0-16. I’ve been a Wolverine fan since the 60’s as a child in rural Iowa when the only station that came in was black and white and full of static, it was some football team in some state far away. Little did I know that one day I’d spend most of my life close to the same place, The Big House.
The Wolverines won the National Championship last year followed by the Lions this year winning the Super Bowl, now that would be historic.
That 0-16 record at least used to be something that would never be broken, only possibly tied. Now there’s a 17th game each season, dang it. ;^)
There was a lifelong season ticket holder from one of the polder towns (basically, Grandville, Hudsonville, Zeeland, Holland) who swore it off when they started with a 7-1 record, then finished the season 8-8. That was during the disaster of the Matt Millen years.
