Thanks to bird flu culling of chickens that “has to be done” the price of a a dozen eggs at Safeway was $5.99 today, Three times the price it was 3 years ago. The government has been lying to us about inflation so badly it’s disgusting.
Our government is trying to impoverished us into submission.
I guess you have not been informed that Russian economy has been strongly affected by the consequences of bird flu in that country. In fact at least a billion food and egg laying birds were culled in this country and more billions throughout the world, including in Russia. The effect on the wild bird population has to have been terrible. I was walking down my street (in a mid-Atlantic state) several years ago and someone had laid 2 beautiful green birds side by side under a bush. I thought, how sad, then I saw a wifi notice that people should report incidents of bird deaths to a central site, which I did.
To suggest our govt culled infected birds and their flocks to cause inflation and impoverish us all is insane. The current administration had every reason to want prices to go down to save its own electability. In fact I could not understand why this admin did not promote this information and the supply chain problems caused at the Suez Canal and Panama Canal as principal causes of inflation here and worldwide, where it is often far worse than in the US. In fact Russia’s stupid war has harmed grain production and shipping in both Ukraine and Russia, and is one major cause of inflated prices on a number of foods.
REgarding the idea that a southern organization is carrying on “gain of function” research regarding bird flu is a serious question, and requires serious investigation. Was this another Fauci promoted and paid for project as it has been suggested he did with Wuhan and Covid? Also, under which admin was such research begun—Bush, Obama, Trump, Biden??? This will certainly be something for RFK Jr to look at.
Early in my time at FR I was following the Iraq war of 2003. Subsequently there were reports of bird flu and illness in farmers with food birds in southern Russia. I found an article describing how Saddam Hussein’s draining of the southern marshes had destroyed an important resting place for birds migrating back and forth between Africa and Europe, thus making them more likely to become I’ll and spread it around. I had put this info in my About Page, as shown below, but with limited wifi skills cannot find the original article. Can anyone help?
