The problem with being living rich is that you have HUGE NUMBERS of strangers crawling around your house and properties - in order to maintain your appearance of wealth.
And while you (or your contractors) can screen and drug test anyone who enters your home...you CANNOT do that for the ‘friends’ of those that enter your home.
In other words, if I grew up locally and hung out with a sketchy crowd that had run-ins with ‘the law’, but instead I got a successful career, say a plumber - I would never steal from a customer (too easy to be caught, too much to lose), but I might just tell one of my sketchy friends where the goods are, and then split the proceeds with him.
Moral of the story - live modest, fix everything you can, and minimize the strangers that enter - REGARDLESS of how rich you are (unless a billionaire or something).
Word gets around what’s at your house. Use that house as a decoy or place for get togethers. Keep nothing of great value there. High security personnel, pics, videos, when using the house, or not there ,etc. Then live in a decent house in a clean, low crime neighborhood. Under an assumed name.
