As an NFL GM, I would be more impressed with a draft prospect who chose to be on the field battling alongside his teammates in a bowl game. Such a decision by the young man would also display his loyalty to the school fanbase.
The school fan base? I know nothing about this kid ... but the way college football works today, it’s possible he’s a portal surfer who was only at Miami one semester. He might not even know any real students, except maybe the coeds the athletic department surrounded him with during his recruitment and to keep him happy during the season. And his “tutor,” of course.
It’s also possible he actually went to class, knows a couple of his professors, and cracked a book on long flights to road games. But maybe not. Commitment to the fanbase, the old alma mater, and fellow students? He probably has as much commitment to Miami as LeBron James has to his sneakers brand.
How big is his NIL package at Miami?
