I’m not a Johnson fan. Who can get the votes to be Speaker?
That’s the real question.
It wasn’t too long ago that many on Free Republic were happy to get rid of McCarthy and install Johnson.
Now with everyone being angry with Johnson, does prompt someone to think , who should be put in as Speaker.
Is Johnson the best we can do, for now?
I hate to think we’re going to have another speakership battle. But then again, I realize if we avoid such a battle, then Mike Johnson stays speaker by default.

Having served on a Central Committee for years, I echo the gist of your statement. Who has the votes to replace him? It is easy to call for someone’s replacement. But hard to replace them. Especially hard to replace them with someone BETTER.
I am not pro or anti Mike Johnson as I have not studied his actions and I know about coalition building, incremental progress, deals, strategic retreats, and alliances. All of which are necessary to get things done. I probably would not agree with all his or anyone’s decisions but it is really complicated.
